President’s report: Michael Drane
- Patterson Trust Update – Market value of the trust as at 31 March 2024 – $633,678
- QZN conference update – collaboration with ASAM and AMSVIC. 170 delegates attended with keynote speakers Prof Fred Dehais – Neuroergonomics, France and Dr Susan Northrop – Federal Air Surgeon, USA. Final profit for AMSANZ of $5K AUD
- AMSANZ 2025 Conference location options – Nelson, Blenheim, Dunedin?
- Planning for 2027 joint conference with ASAM in 2027
- Incorporated Societies Act 2022 – requirement to update the Society’s rules to be compliant with the Incorporated Societies Act 2022. Society will need to seek legal advice for this. Legal advice may be cost effective? about 1500 dollars
- CAA and Empic update – not rolled out to Medical Concerns
- Strategic Planning about conferences, CAA relations (IT and conflicts of interest), increasing membership and supporting trainees, and specialist recognition through MCNZ
